I build systems where claims have to survive contact with reality.

I have been building software since 2002 and running engineering organisations for most of the time since. As CTO I took the company from roughly thirty people to roughly two hundred and fifty, and built the functions that were missing on the way — delivery management, quality engineering, a PMO, a business analysis department.

What I care about is whether a claim survives contact with reality: whether the architecture holds when the integration is real, whether the evaluation still means something when the data is messy, whether a delivery decision looks defensible six months later.

That is the work. The instrument on this site is a way of saying it without a slide deck.
